CP2A at Newhall

Award: Housing Design Project shortlist 2019
Working once again for Countryside Properties, BBUK designed the public realm and landscape for 163 homes at CP2A, the second phase of the Newhall development in Essex.
Previous phases have taken a range of different approaches resulting in a diverse townscape reminiscent of the organic expansion found in traditional settlements. BPTW’s architectural design for the site reflects this, blending a series of ‘village clusters’ into the established urban grain, that help to create a unified townscape and community.
BBUK worked on a variety of public spaces including small pockets of green and paved public spaces as well as additional amenity space and pedestrian and cycle connections. BBUK also designed an impressive green link running the length of the eastern side of the site.
